Environmental Solutions - energy retaining glazing.

In recent years the necessity of energy savings around Europe and the rest of the world has been pointed out and become a priority.

Although suffering from a late start in comparison with almost all other energy conservation methods, the demand for ever more diverse energy conservation products, specifically the use of low emissivity (Low E) sealed units, has slowly infiltrated the British market.

Glass plays a crucial role in energy management and since mid 2002 as set out in the new Building Regulations (Document L) all replacement and new build windows, doors and rooflights can only be fitted if they conform to specific U values as set out in Document L.

These U Values are achieved by using a Low E glass within the construction of a sealed unit, of which there are two types available.

Dependent on which type of framing system is being used and the level of performance required you can use a hard coated glass or a soft coated glass, the latter offering a higher performance along with a lower U value and can also improve solar control.

Glass Logistics through their network of factories within Europe and the UK can offer a comprehensive range of soft-coated low E insulating glass sealed units. To enquire further about the ordering and purchase of energy retaining sealed units, please use the form provided below.
